REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 1, 2026 or when units fill to capacity, whichever comes first.

Every Ability Counts is a week for girls with disabilities to experience Girl Scout camp in a safe, adapted environment. Girls ages 5-21 are invited to join Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Girl Scouts for a week of day camp at Camp Shawano, located on the Fayette and Jessamine county line.

Girls with mild, moderate or severe disabilities are invited to attend. The special thing about our camp is that we welcome caregivers to attend with their child, allowing parents the peace of mind of being close by to help with caregiving needs, but also to have the ability to step back and let your girls have a true camp experience.

Girls do not need to be a registered Girl Scout to attend, nor do they need to join. The camp is open to all girls ages 5-21 who identify as having a disability.

This session is run by a group of volunteers  committed to providing a safe, accessible week for your girls. The directors come from a variety of backgrounds, and all have a passion for supporting children with disabilities. We will have, at most, a 1:3 ratio between girls and staff to allow for individualized attention for each girl.

The cost of this session is $106 for all 5 days. Parents and caregivers are permitted to attend with their girl free of charge.

Campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day. This session is peanut free, so please do not pack any food items containing peanuts or peanut ingredients in your child’s lunch. If your camper needs an accommodation for this, please reach out directly to the session directors.
