Glamping with Girl Scouts

Monday, June 5 - Friday, June 9, 2023

                    9:00 a.m. -- 3:00 p.m. each day with an overnight on Wednesday

Directed by: Becky Hadden,  Debbie Smith,  Micki Stephens, Debbie Forker,

The deadline for this session is May 1 or when units fill to capacity, whichever comes first.
GIRL SCOUTS IS A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION AND FAYETTE JESSAMINE DAY CAMP IS RUN COMPLETELY BY VOLUNTEERS WITH NO GS STAFF INVOLVEMENT. We depend on other volunteers (leaders and/or moms of Girl Scouts) to lead units at camp and help make it a success and a fun experience for the girls.  Please consider spending a week with your daughter and her friends to help give them a wonderful camp experience.

Come discover your inner diva in the outdoors.  We will be glamping it up during this week in addition to our normal outdoor activities, which include, but are not limited to, basic camp skills, hiking, nature crafts, campfire cooking flag ceremonies, designing a camp shirt.  BR-ADV girls can participate with their unit at the Climbing Tower* and Archery Range* to learn basic skills and safety. Daisys will have alternate activities in place of the high risk activities). Units will work on badge requirements while at camp. There will also be hiking, crafts, songs, games, and lots of new friends. We will have a special flag ceremony where girls will learn how to properly retire a tattered or torn flag that should no longer be used.
Parents of BR through ADV campers must complete and sign the High Risk Activity Permission Form for campers to participate at the Climbing Tower and Archery Range.
*Daisys (K/1st grade) and Pixies (5 & under) do not participate in high risk activities.
